We have to be so careful at this time of year to make sure the outside stays just there and to keep our interiors clean and bug free. I was out in my garden over the hot and humid weekend – lots of nice flying things that I did like, being birds, butterflies and a couple of moths, earlier in the day. I was sat inside, near the patio door and my eye was caught by a dashing movement that was not a bird at the feeder . . . looking again, I realised it was a mouse. I had to move my entire bird feeding enterprise off the path, up onto an old bench and then look round for evidence of the little critter’s entry into my house! Having heard them up in m loft, I’d already had the council pest team out – they just looked round the loft and put down their usual deterrent and gave advice . . . . some of which involved not leaving tasty morsels out where mice could find . . . So I’m currently trying to clean up all suspect area and ensuring old food is not available. I also try to ensure my kitchen cupboards and drawers are not grubby ant hotels too!
